Testimonials
Coach Monahan has a heart and talent for teaching, training, and encouraging. When I was in high school interested in the decathlon but without any coach, he stepped up to train me in all 10 events. He met with me after school and on weekends and even developed a formal plan including a binder with motivational quotes and developmental milestones for me to succeed, not only in sports, but also in life. That same year I won the Junior Olympics National Decathlon and was recruited by the University of Arkansas, where I eventually became an All-American.
One aspect that makes Coach Monahan truly special and remarkable, is that he “walks the walk. He is in his 7th decade of life, but can still personally demonstrate the drills and events, including pole vaulting, for his athletes. He is a role model for life-long fitness and personal development, and I am very thankful and indebted for the time and effort he so generously invested in me. Sport Fit Academy has the potential to change the lives of both children and adults in the Portland Metropolitan Area, and I highly recommend supporting its mission

Nathanael not only distinguished himself among his peers at the University of Arkansas and throughout the nation, he achieved excellence by nearly every standard established for college students and student-athletes,” Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics Jeff Long says. “His intellectual excellence, athletic vigor, and unquestioned character represent the very best the University of Arkansas has to offer. However, in my estimation, Nathanael’s most distinguishing trait is his strength of character. His never yielding pursuit of personal growth is mirrored by his passion to use his extraordinary intellect and talents to fulfill his devotion to duty and the well being of fellow human beings.”
